Acclaimed animation director Masaaki Yuasa's new animation studio, ame pippin, marks his return to the industry after a three-year hiatus. The studio, officially launched on February 18, brings together key industry players, including Asmik Ace, Aniplex, and CoMix Wave Films, as strategic partners. The involvement of Asmik Ace, Aniplex, and CoMix Wave Films strengthens ame pippin's position in the industry. Asmik Ace has a longstanding relationship with Yuasa, having supported his works from Mind Game to Inu-Ou. Aniplex, which co-produced Inu-Ou and Devilman: Crybaby, brings extensive experience in anime production and distribution. Meanwhile, CoMix Wave Films, best known for producing Makoto Shinkai's films, adds another layer of expertise, having also been involved in Inu-Ou's production committee. Yuasa expressed his vision for ame pippin as a space for fresh creativity and collaboration, stating that the studio aims to embrace flexibility and innovation in entertainment. While specific projects have yet to be announced, the establishment of ame pippin signals an exciting new chapter in Yuasa's career.
